How old are they?
Dating your finds can be a hit and miss affair as most manufacturing teqhniques would overlap by as much as twenty years or so,but as a rough guide you can use the diagrams below which show the progression of both mould seams and lip manufacture and a rough guide to when these techniques were being employed. In general,If it looks old(i.e full of seed bubbles,is slightly coloured,is crudely made)then it probably is.For further
reading I can reccomend:-
Bottle collecting and collecting Pot-lids both by Edward Fletcher
Bottles and Bottlecollecting A.A.C.Hedges
