Coloured Pot-lids
Bear lion and cock.Prattware lid
c-1850.This lid depicts the defeat
of the Russian bear by English lion.
Most likely to have contained bears
grease pomade(a hair dressing).
Bears on the rocks,again around 1850 this time from the Mayer works.This also contained Pomade.
Cherry toothpaste,probably dates later than the above though not sure.
Say around 1880-1900.
Another Bears Grease,this one features the bear pit in regents park.
Later versions have trees instead of
the dome to the left.Scarce
Alas poor Bruin another prattware bears lid,again probably around 1850 or so.
Cleavers cherry toothpaste.This one is unusual as it has a spelling mistake and may well be a one off so I,m told.
Prattware bears grease,Bears at school.c1855,scarcish.
"shooting bears"prattware around 1850,there is a version of this same lid with a bush in the foreground to the right.Scarce.
